Pronotal ridge is defined as the carina that is limiting laterally the pronotal plate. Pronotal ridges in the definition of pronotal triangle referring the "pronotal ridge" or these are other ridges extending on the pronotum?
MB: Okay, I see the problem here. The pronotal triangle is a space between pronotal ridges. In some taxa, there is only a single pronotal ridge (e.g. Dicerataspis), but in other species (e.g. Tropideucoila) there are several pronotal carinae, radiating from the posterior margin of the pronotal plate. If you look at fig. 2 of my Zaeucoiolini paper, compare 2B with 2C; in b, there are several very short ridges; in C, there are just two very distinct ridges. Can you see what I am talking about here?
